Thumbnails

The goal of this assignment was to select current social topics and generate social commentary about them with our illustration skills. The top row of thumbnails explores the Canadian housing crisis and the bottom focus on Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Roughs

Details

The commentary behind this piece is questioning the responsibility of Russian citizens prior to—and during—the invasion of Ukraine. By not protesting Putin's actions or publicly condemning him are they partially responsible for the genocide that is now happening to the Ukrainian people? It's a difficult question that has a lot of messy elements to it.

Enhance!

The smaller the Russian nesting dolls get the more details are omitted. The last doll retains only the basics.
