The goal was to select a current social topic and generate commentary about it through illustration. The meaning behind this piece is questioning the responsibility of Russian citizens before—and during—the invasion of Ukraine. By not protesting Putin’s actions or publicly condemning him are they partially responsible for the genocide that is now happening to the Ukrainian people? It’s a complex question with many messy elements involved.
